Education Partnership North East’s (EPNE) leadership team visited Sunderland-based Vantec Europe Limited to discover more about the company’s impressive strategic journey of transformation.

Hosting the event at its headquarters in Washington, the global automotive logistics provider outlined how it has revolutionised its logistics solutions; digital transformation and connected autonomous mobility strategy; data analytics, approaches to digitally driven health and safety; innovation through the Vantec Interactive Experience (VIE) and the company’s response to current and future workforce skills needs.

Paul Loughlin, Head of High Value Business, Finance and Commercial at Vantec said: “Our recruitment and workforce development requirements are driven by the need to have digitally skilled employees who can develop and use smart technology for reporting everything from near misses to hazards, analysing data, software programming and operating autonomous vehicles.

“It was our pleasure to deliver strategic insights to all executive, senior and middle leaders across the entirety of Education Partnership North East so that the college group can now further pivot their strategies to complement the needs of Vantec.”

Ellen Thinnesen, EPNE’s Chief Executive, added: “The opportunity to hear from Vantec Europe and learn about their exciting developments gave our leadership team much food for thought on how our colleges can evolve corporate development skills strategy.”

“Knowledge transfer partnership must be at the heart of education-industry relationships if we are to accelerate the region’s ambitions and support businesses and providers to innovate and grow. I am very grateful to Martin Kendall and his team at Vantec for supporting this developmental engagement”.

As part of a joint venture activity, Vantec Europe started providing Logistics and Warehousing services to its main automotive client, Nissan, in 1990.

Since then, it has grown organically and developed its range of services to become a preferred 3PL (third party logistics) provider, with 13 operations in the UK and a key customer base including in the automotive and luxury premium vehicles; construction equipment; lighting; electric battery and offshore renewable energy industries.

Now, as part of Logisteed Group, Vantec Europe is one of the top logistics solution providers in the automotive parts industry and continues to grow significantly.
