Strong leadership and Management is a vital component of any successful organisation as it positively influences and motivates people to realise their potential and develop new skills. This is how a business grows.
In 2022 the Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeship was the fourth most popular apprenticeships delivered in England, with employers both large and small understanding that having staff members undertake the programme offers a great return on investment, with the employees also eager to put themselves forward for the qualification.
Danielle Pemberton, Deputy Divisional Administration Manager at South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, who completed the apprenticeship last year said: “Studying the Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeship has given me new valuable skills to develop my career and also the tools I needed to become an effective leader. I gained a distinction and the programme has boosted my confidence.”
The apprenticeship develops the critical skills employers demand, including: communication; operations management; project management; finance; planning; building relationships and managing people.
Peter Robertson, Head of Business Development at Education Partnership North East, said: “Apprenticeships offer employers a great, cost effective way, to develop their workforce and there is no better example of this than the Operations/Departmental Manager Apprenticeship. The feedback we have received from employers who have placed staff onto our programmes is really positive, with the skills, knowledge and behaviours they learn and develop on the programme improving the performance of their leaders and managers.”
