Students at Sunderland College, Northumberland College and Hartlepool Sixth Form are celebrating after discovering that they have gained the grades to achieve their future ambitions after collecting their A-Level, T Level and technical results.
Hundreds of the college group students received their results last Thursday 15 August, with many accepting offers from some of the country’s leading universities, progressing to higher level apprenticeships or starting a new career.
Outstanding individual achievements at Sunderland College included Rosie, who will be studying Mathematics at the University of Oxford after receiving A* A* A* A* in her A-Levels.
She said: “I was shocked and delighted when I opened my results, I couldn’t believe it. I’m so glad all my hard work paid off.
“Sunderland College has helped me in unimaginable ways. My teachers went above and beyond to give me all the support I needed.”
Sixth form students have also achieved a 90% pass rate with many subjects performing well. Students in English Literature, Film Studies, Politics, English Language performed exceptionally well with 100% pass rate and strong A* – C.
Proud A-Level student from Hartlepool Sixth Form College Reece Garthwaite, achieved three A*’s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. He said: “I’m very happy, I was quite shocked when I opened my results, but it was of course a nice surprise.
“I only needed 1 A* to get into my chosen university, but I got all three.”
Reece is going to Edinburgh University to study Maths and Physics this September.
Those studying T Levels also impressed, with students on courses such as Digital, Construction and Engineering all achieving their qualifications and all with high grades.
Northumberland College achieved an overall 94% pass rate for technical qualifications, with Kirkley Hall Campus’ – the top performing land-based college in the North of England – continuing its success after students gained 100% achievement in courses including Animal Management and Equine Management.
Animal Management student Beth Chandler-Norris achieved a triple Distinction* and will be heading to university to progress with a degree in Agriculture.
Beth said: “I was absolutely over the moon when I received my results. I couldn’t be happier. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Kirkley Hall, it’s been an amazing experience and I’m super excited to continue my studies at university.”
Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Toni Rhodes said: “It has been great to see the achievements across a broad range of Level 3 qualifications, and our students studying creative subjects within our sixth form this year have shone. In addition, our T Level students this year have also done exceptionally well.
“We are always incredibly proud of all our students and staff that make days like today happen and we wish all out students’ huge success in their next steps.”
Sunderland College, Northumberland College and Hartlepool Sixth Form are all now accepting applications from school leavers for their wide range of A-Level subjects, and technical courses.
