Education Partnership North East understands that strong Leadership and Management runs through every successful organisation.

If it is ensured that staff have the skills, knowledge and behaviours to offer strong leadership then organisations will reap the benefits. EPNE specialises in supporting employers to develop their leaders, their suite of leadership and management programmes are designed give staff the skills and knowledge they need to be well rounded successful leaders.

Chris Small, Learning & Development Specialist at AESC said: ‘‘At AESC we recognise that leadership and management is vital to our organisation. We have worked with Education Partnership North East for a number of years on a variety of leadership and management programmes.

“We have utilised this training to develop staff across the organisation, ranging from those who are looking into whether leadership is something they may want to move into at some point in the near future, up to our existing managers who wanted to build and improve on their existing skills.

“The success of these programmes has been essential for us to support the growth we will experience over the next couple of years and the college has been key in helping us to do this.”

Peter Robertson, Head of Business Development at EPNE said: “We support many of the region’s largest employers to develop their leadership teams. One of the things we come across time and time again is the manager who has been promoted primarily because they have excelled in their previous role.

“Suddenly they find themselves in a position where they are not just responsible for managing their own performance but also the performance of the people that they line manage and this can be a scary proposition if you haven’t got the tools to handle it.”

The programmes available, some of which are fully funded, range from a short course for aspiring leaders raising awareness on what leadership is, to a deep dive Level 5 apprenticeship that will empower staff with the creativity, vision, and strategic thinking necessary to lead organisations in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
