Delivered by EPNE Training, in partnership with Northumberland College.

If you are currently economically inactive (not actively seeking work at the moment) and want to open doors to further opportunities, this is the project for you. Running until March 2026, the programme offers free, government-funded courses designed to support individuals in North Tyneside and Northumberland with upskilling and training.

Whether you are a carer or parent looking to explore training opportunities or to build your confidence and skills , Open Doors is here to guide you. You can see the exciting work they do on their Facebook page.

Open Doors offers dedicated support to help you with:

  • Increasing your confidence to plan your next steps
  • Preparing for interview and application support for further study
  • Receiving mental health, NHS and specialist services
  • Developing your communication skills and life skills
  • Improving ICT skills

 
The Open Doors project is an introductory, community-based project that is flexible to student's needs to provide the exact support you need to succeed, from mental health to CV workshops.

Available workshops:

  • Building confidence and aspirations - Update/Create a CV - One day workshop.
  • Level One in Mental Health/Wellbeing Awareness - mental health is explored with practical strategies (one day per week for four weeks)
  • Level One in Substance Abuse Awareness (one day per week for four weeks)
  • Building Confidence towards employment/courses - practical ideas are provided to build confidence with the opportunity to learn about courses (one day workshop)
