Strong leadership lies at the heart of every successful organisation. Investing in the development of leaders and managers can help businesses improve performance, strengthen employee engagement and build the skills needed to navigate change effectively.
At Education Partnership North East (EPNE) we specialise in supporting employers to develop confident and capable leaders and managers. Our suite of Leadership programmes are designed to help staff build the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to become effective leaders.
Peter Robertson, Director of Business Development at EPNE said:
“We offer a wide range of Leadership training programmes which offer employers the opportunity to develop staff across the whole spectrum of their organisation, from employees new to leadership roles to experienced leaders looking to build on their existing knowledge and skillset.
A challenge many organisations face is supporting employees who have been promoted into management roles. Often, these individuals have excelled in their previous position, but leadership brings new responsibilities. Suddenly, they are accountable not only for their own performance but also for the success and development of their teams. Without the right tools and training, that transition can be a difficult one.”
EPNE has worked closely with Sunderland City Council to support the development of leaders across the organisation. Karen Donaldson, Head of Learning and Organisation Development at the Council, said:
“We have developed a strong and successful partnership with EPNE, working together to invest in the development of our workforce. Over the last three years more than 100 colleagues have participated in our leadership and management programmes, which have been designed collaboratively to support staff at every stage of their leadership journey. From aspiring leaders to experienced managers, the programmes provide accessible, high-quality development opportunities that meet the needs of a diverse local authority workforce.
The impact of this partnership has been significant. The programmes have helped to build leadership capability across the organisation, increasing confidence, strengthening management practice and supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality services for the people of Sunderland. EPNE has been a valued and responsive partner throughout, and we look forward to continuing this successful relationship as we develop the next generation of leaders across the Council.”
Our programmes are all accredited and nationally recognised, with some being fully funded. They range from introductory Level 2 Leadership courses through to Level 5 Institute of Leadership and Management Diplomas, helping individuals develop the confidence, strategic thinking and leadership skills needed to succeed in today’s fast-paced working environment. We also offer sector-specific Leadership programmes for Manufacturing and Healthcare employers, alongside Project Management qualifications.
