This qualification is useful for anyone who would like to develop their use of counselling skills for use in either work or a personal capacity.
This course does not qualify learners to practice as a counsellor, but is suitable for those who wish to increase their understanding of counselling/listening skills and techniques, in order to engage in helpful interaction appropriately. Learners could use this knowledge to complement an existing role, or as a basis for continued study to attain a qualification in this sector.
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification. An understanding of counselling would be an advantage.
